Lasauvage is a small village in the district of Differdange Municipality, in the south-west of Luxembourg. It is a former mining village, in the middle of a big mining region, where iron ore has been extracted until the mid-20th century. 

The location we have chosen for the Nomadic Island residency camp is a large surface facing the entrance of one of the mines. That’s the reason why it bears the name of "carreau de la mine" (mine-square). This area offers enough space to host the self-owned sleeping facilities and the working space for the artists in residence. The charm of the place is the mix between nature and industrial heritage. ​
